• Why should consumers choose custom-designed kitchen cabinets?

In a custom designed kitchen, the customer gets what they want, rather than having to choose from a standard selection. A custom designed kitchen utilizes all available space, whereas, a pre-fabricated cabinet may or may not fit. Using custom cabinets enhances the beauty and increases the efficiency of the kitchen by eliminating gaps and wasted space. In many cases, custom cabinets are as affordable as prefabricated.

• What are the most important elements in your approach to kitchen design?

At J&C Cabinets, we first establish the customer’s budget, then design cabinets to fit within that budget. Most of the time, customer’s ideas are bigger than their budget, that’s when custom design is so important. We can design and build nice kitchens to meet any budget.

• In what ways do you involve your client in the design process?

The customer is very involved in the design phase of the kitchen. Their specifications and request are incorporated into the kitchen layout. We use KCDW, an Autocad based software package, to provide customers with a detailed, 3-D drawing of their kitchen. After reviewing the drawing final approval, the project is started.

• What role does craftsmanship play in kitchen design?

Craftsmanship plays a huge role in custom cabinet making. To achieve the customer’s goals, and stay within budget, we rely on the experience, imagination and craftsmanship of a dedicated team of employees. Experience and craftsmanship are established over time, not purchased with a business license. Lots of people can build a cabinet, but a true craftsman produces a cabinet that will last a lifetime.
